Every Season Of Community Ranked Worst To Best
4. Season Five
As the follow up to the "gas leak year", season five needed to knock it out of the park to get the show back on track. It certainly gave a decent swing but was far from reaching the bleachers. It's a very middle of the road season, as there are some plus points, but also the beginning of some poor trends.
It's important to note first that the loss of Pierce and eventual loss of Troy were the initial nails in the coffin for the show's decline. However, both Pierce and Troy's farewell episodes were highlights, so there was still a sense that the show was moving forward.
Looking at it objectively, season five was solid as the concepts were fun, and there was a nice balance between gimmick and standard stories. Plus, the show did an excellent job of keeping the study group at school despite all being graduates. Sadly, Jonathan Banks' Buzz Hickey didn't blend incredibly well, and there were a lot of less exciting episodes.
The season had soaring highs and crushing lows, making it one of the most inconsistent periods of the show. Still, at least there was plenty of good to keep it fun.
