A show is only ever as good as its leading character, and thankfully for Sex Education, they've got a real doozy in Otis Milburn.
It's often difficult to craft a main character who fans can get behind, but Otis is a perfect cocktail of humour, wisdom and depth. His lack of experience with all things sexual but deep knowledge of relationships and sex makes him feel like a bubbling cauldron of confusion, frustration and humour. This ends up being the base that makes him such an amusing person.
Another part of what makes Otis so great is that he's not always likeable. He makes mistakes and can act like a real jerk at times, and while this causes you to get frustrated with him, it makes him feel like a real adolescent boy. Plus, despite his flaws, he's still incredibly endearing, thanks to his awkwardness and relatability.
Ultimately, he's the perfect lead for this show and has become the glue that keeps the whole thing together.
