Every Sex Education Character Ranked Worst To Best

Jakob brings an energy that's entirely out of place in this show full of goofy kids, horny teenagers and school bullies, but in a completely good way. He provides an aura of severity but sucks you in with his stoic charm, making you want to watch whatever he is going through.

At first, the character seemed like he'd be a simple romantic partner for Jean, giving her a tasty slice of monogamy for a bit and providing some harmless fun. But, the more you got to know him and learned about his relationship with his daughter (Ola) and late wife, the more you realised he was here to stay.

There's this sense of grittiness to him, which is contrasted nicely by his wicked sense of humour. Plus, his dynamic alongside Jean as a lover turned boyfriend turned co-parent shows that he's capable of working in any capacity, and it's led to Jakob being incredibly well developed.

The only reason he isn't higher is that he has always felt like more of a supporting role, rather than a major figure.
