Every Sex Education Character Ranked Worst To Best
7. Michael Groff
You might be surprised to see a character like Michael on this list, but he really does give viewers the best of both worlds.
In this incredibly silly and funny show, Michael Groff is the one man who doesn't seem to be laughing. He has this stoic energy that (unlike Jakob's) makes him seem like he's made of stone, which painted him perfectly as the bad guy for seasons one and two. His stranglehold over Moordale High and emotionally stifling behaviour towards his son made him a genuinely hateable villain.
Yet, despite how unlikeable he was, there was something easily pitiable about Michael, and you saw this more and more as the show progressed. He seemed like a man on the edge, and season three fully explored this, showing a damaged and repenting man underneath the cold looks who didn't know how to make himself happy.
His surprising redemption arc and great turn as Sex Education's first antagonist makes him more than worthy of stepping into the top ten.
