Every Simpson, Griffin & Belcher Family Member Ranked

Despite talk in Bart’s entry of any of the five being worthy winners, Bart’s frequent recharacterisation and Bob’s Burgers lack of a real animation legacy chopped it down to three favourites. Unfortunately for him, Peter finishes third in a very, very tight three horse race.

More than Bob’s Burgers or The Simpsons, Family Guy throws the focus onto Peter almost entirely. It’s very rare that he’s not either in the A-plot or a bloated B-plot, extended to give him some room. Stewie and Brian adventures are the only true exception to this, and even then they usually have cutaways with something ‘the fat man’ did.

He’s the worst husband and father by a distance, but this sets up so many gags that it makes Peter much more likeable; at least in the dark comedy stylings of Family Guy.

The show does seem to just think up Peter Does Something plots these days though. Trans Fat sees him mistaken as transgender, but the show does nothing with it.

The jokes are just lazy, about how all women order salad, drink wine and fart when waiters aren’t nearby. Strange. Very strange.

Still, across all the seasons, he’s a great character.
