Every Star Trek Film & TV Show Ranked From Worst To Best
3. Star Trek: First Contact (1996)
Star Trek: First Contact is a beautiful film. It's filled with action, suspense, and incredible moments of character development with Data, Picard, and, of course, Zefram Cochrane, the inventor of warp drive.
Watching Cochrane go from a grumpy, money-obsessed genius to a wide-eyed explorer the first time he sees Earth and the Vulcans is enough to make any Trekkie cry. The end of this film, the first contact scene, is one of the most important moments in Trek history, the beginning of a new era of peace on Earth, and Star Trek: First Contact portrays it incredibly.
Throughout the film we also get to see the newly redesigned Borg as they try to take over Earth, then later the Enterprise. The fight scenes between the Borg are so well done in this film. At times it even feels like a horror movie, the way the Borg are portrayed so gruesomely, much more terrifying than in The Next Generation.
First Contact is the best Star Trek film yet because of its perfect mix of brutal action and deep, emotional moments.
