4. Star Trek: Voyager (1995-2001)

Star Trek Seven And Janeway
CBS

When Star Trek: Voyager was created, it was the golden age of Trek. The Next Generation had just ended, beginning to move on to the big screen, and Deep Space Nine was airing new episodes.

Audiences were starting to tire of the same old aliens and plot devices, so the Star Trek team knew that if they were to create a new show among all this Trek, they would need to think of an original new concept. Having the crew of Voyager become stranded thousands of lightyears from home in the Delta Quadrant was a great way to make the show stand out, and allow all sorts of creative new aliens to be introduced. The Kazon, the Vidiians, the Hirogen, and Species 8472 are all incredibly unique alien species that appear in the show. Being stranded alone also placed Voyager in much more danger than any other Starfleet ship and allowed a lot of conflict to happen among the crew.

The show really became incredible when Voyager entered Borg space and Seven of Nine joined the crew. The Borg served as a perfect adversary for Captain Janeway.

The final episode of the series is amazing. A perfect conclusion to Voyager's adventure.
