11. Star Trek: A Christmas Carol
'Tis The Fifteenth Season was the Christmas-themed episode of The Simpsons from, you guessed it, season fifteen, and featured what was actually quite a heartwarming story arc for Homer.
After receiving a small bonus thanks to a baseball card he sold to The Comic Book Guy, Homer took his family Christmas shopping before buying a talking astrolabe for himself despite promising to buy a huge Christmas tree. It wasn't until watching Mr. McGrew's Christmas Carol that the doughnut-loving Simpson realised that he needed to change his ways in order to give his family the best Christmas possible.
This wasn't the only version of the Christmas Carol that Homer watched, though, as Bart also showed his father a few parodies of the much-loved film, one of which being a Star Trek: The Original Series version.
This features The Ghost of Christmas Future appearing in front of the crew as a light being, with Captain Kirk ordering Scotty to fire the torpedoes at him. Instead, Scotty refused to do so, simply because The Ghost has shown him a glimpse of how fat he'll be in the future.
