Every Star Trek Reference, Easter Eggs & Jokes In The Simpsons
4. My Work Is Done Here
Season four, episode twelve of The Simpsons saw Marge attempting to stop a faulty monorail train, which had been purchased by a conman, from destroying Springfield. Those who know the show know that this is regarded worldwide as one of its greatest episodes.
Leonard Nimoy appears at the christening of the monorail, stating that it could do at least Warp 5, a reference to the speed limit system used throughout the Star Trek franchise. Additionally, Nimoy also mentions how the doors worked in Star Trek: The Original Series; they were operated by stagehands, rather than being automated. This is, of course, true.
A further reference from Nimoy at the end of this episode has him stating that "My work is done here", a line used by Spock, before he beams out of the scene.
