Everything We Know About The Witcher Season 2 So Far
4. Mads Mikkelsen As Vesemir?
A popular character amongst the book and game fans alike, Vesemir is the granddaddy of Witchers, the most badass of them all. He is the eldest of the Witchers and even helped raise Geralt as an infant. Remember at the end of season 1 when Geralt had flashbacks to his childhood? As Geralt calls out, that was Vesemir coming to get him on the road.
With the evidence of the first season and the Blood of Elves novel under our noses, it is safe to assume that Vesemir will make an appearance in season 2. But who will play him? An original fan favourite choice to play Geralt, Mads Mikkelsen, is back among the talks in forums and social media pages.
With the admiration of his acting talents and previous roles almost perfectly capturing the look and feel of an old Witcher (see above), fans of the show have always remained big campaigners for him to be on the show. What's most interesting however is Mads Mikkelsen's already established connection to the project. Remember Stregobor? The wizard who featured heavily in episode one and then throughout the series? He was played by Mads Mikkelsens brother Lars. So perhaps some brotherly love is all we need to get Mads on board? That, and, well, the casting director to actually consider him.
