Falcon & The Winter Soldier: 10 Biggest Takeaways From Episode Two
2. Another Potential Addition To The Young Avengers
The interaction between Sam, Bucky, and Isaiah was so powerful, and so incredibly important, that it would have been easy to overlook the fourth man present. It was Isaiah's grandson, Elijah, who initially refused to let Bucky and Sam into their house, a character who could have a much bigger role in the future.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seemingly been heading towards a Young Avengers iteration for some time, and with the Maximoff twins and Cassie Lang set to be joined in the franchise by the likes of Kate Bishop and Riri Williams, it now seems a case of when, rather than if the team will be introduced.
Elijah Bradley may well add to this roster as he did in the comics, under the name of Patriot. Though he wasn't born with any special abilities in the comics, Eli took Mutant Growth Hormone pills to gain his super strength, disguising them as the result of a blood transfusion from his grandfather.
Along with Hulkling, Wiccan, and Iron Lad, Patriot was one of the founding members of the Young Avengers. Hopefully this is the path the MCU has laid out for the character, rather than reducing him to little more than an episode two easter egg.
