15. Brian Does Hollywood

Family Guy 15Season: 3 Episode: 2 Original Air Date: July 18th, 2001 After finishing drug rehab, Brian moves to Los Angeles to live with his cousin, Jasper, and attempt to fulfill his dream of becoming a screenwriter. As he struggles to get his work seen and purchased, he becomes a waiter to help make ends meet. When he is finally hooked up to a local independent film producer, Brian finds out it's a porno that he is involved with. Looking for a way to come visit Brian, the Griffins have Stewie audition to be on Kids Say The Darndest Things. Stewie is a success in the audition, and it's off to Hollywood they go. They meet up with Brian, who is now a director, and he invites them to the set of his first film, unaware at the time that it was of the pornographic variety. Upon finding out what kind of movie he's doing, Brian is embarrassed, and has the family removed from the set so that they don't find out for themselves, causing the Griffins to think Hollywood has changed Brian. The family would eventually find out the truth from Jasper, so Peter and Lois go to surprise Brian at the appropriately named porn award show, The Woodies. They tell Brian that they're going to support him, no matter what he does, and Brian comes to the realization that he didn't need to travel to Hollywood to find his life's fulfillment, because he had that in Quahog with the Griffin family. Cameo appearances by porn stars Jenna Jameson and Ron Jeremy, as well as a gag about how Samuel L. Jackson appears in almost every movie (followed by a shot of him preparing to take his robe off in a porn film that Brian is at), help to make this episode even better.
