Family Guy: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)
18. Season 17
Even though Season 16 showed signs Family Guy was getting back on its feet, the following season dashed those dreams to dust. This season's biggest problem isn't the fact that most of the jokes aren't funny - the problem is that the storylines aren't funny even though they should be.
There is an entire episode where Peter faces off against Donald Trump. Despite the endless supply of punchlines one could devise for the controversial former president, the writers instead focused on low-hanging fruit like Trump's orangey skin and small hands. You'd expect uninspired and offbeat gags like this from lesser shows, but it's surprising to watch Family Guy stoop so low.
In the season's defence, it deals with a lot of relevant topics in the current world including transgenderism, internet fame, and fake news. Sadly, the issues are never explored in depth, which makes you wonder why the creative team bothered dedicating entire episodes to these matters.
