It would be understandable for your mind to be a bit scrambled should you find yourself 1000 years away from home, particularly when the first day of your new job in the future took you to the Moon, somewhere you had wanted to go all of your life.

This was like a dream come true for Fry, though he found himself somewhat disappointed with the Moon. This was because he was just at an amusement park, whereas the Moon he wanted was the real Moon – the barren wasteland outside the borders of Luna Park.

He essentially forced Leela out into the unknown on a buggy that wasn’t designed for that terrain, with limited oxygen. She gave him ten minutes, but when it came time to turn around, he ignored her and carried on, eventually losing the buggy to a crater and condemning them to a cold death on the dark side of the Moon.
