Game Of Thrones: 12 Greatest Anti-Heroes In Westeros
2. The Hound
As far as individual characters go, Sandor Clegane is the ultimate anti-hero. He's gone to both extremes. He's committed dome downright cruel acts including the slaughtering of the butcher's boy, but he's also helped both Stark girls survive the world.
His adventures with Arya were tremendous, and despite being motivated by the golden reward at the end of the tunnel, he had a genuine soft spot for her, even though he simply couldn't show it. He was constantly mercy-killing, stealing and taking supplies and justifying everything along the way. It speaks volumes that Arya couldn't kill him at the end of Season 4, despite his name being firmly on her seemingly set-in-stone kill list. He was a fantastically conflicted character who clashed with arguably one of the top cult heroes, Brienne, and ultimately paid the price for trying to protect Arya. Is he really dead though? Who knows. Hopefully not, but it isn't looking good after a season away from the screen.
