1. Prince Oberyn's Crushed Head

Head crushing is not the type of death you see in any other TV show or hear about in real life, which is why it was so shocking when it happened to Oberyn Martell.

The image of Gregor Clegane grabbing his head and squeezing it like it was a spot filled with puss until it popped will stay with fans forever. What made it even more incredible was how unexpected it was. Up until that point, Oberyn was battering Gregor, but all it took was one brief lapse of concentration and it was over for him.

We all knew The Mountain was strong and incredibly dangerous, but no one knew he was capable of crushing a man's skull like he did here. It felt like it was a Fatality straight out of Mortal Kombat and it made his character even more frightening than he was before. Although there's likely to be a good few more seasons left of the show, if there's ever a more creative, more powerful death than this, then it's really going to have to be something.
