Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Spectacular Moments From Season 3

4. Beric v. The Hound, "Kissed By Fire"

When the newly introduced Beric Dondarrion challenges The Hound to a trial by battle, it doesn't seem like he stands much of a chance. The leader of the Brotherhood Without Banners looks beaten and battered and only has the use of one eye. Then he magically sets his sword on fire and things get a lot more interesting. The duel itself is an exciting episode opener. The intense sword fight takes place in a cave, with The Hound seemingly about to succumb to his one fear. Just as it looks like Beric has won, The Hound slices through his armor and into his arm. He falls over dead, but not for long. To everyone's surprise, Beric is revived by Thoros of Myr via the Lord of Light. This epic scene has one of the best battle sequences in the show and it also proves that Melisandre's religion might just be the one that everyone should convert to.
