3. Jaime's Bathtub Confession, "Kissed by Fire"
I guess all it takes for Jaime Lannister to let down his emotional shield is to lose a limb. Then again, it isn't just any limb. According to Jaime, his sword hand defines him as a person. Now that it's gone, we get to see a different side of the Kingslayer. After almost dying from his wound, Jaime joins a reluctant Brienne in the Harrenhal bathhouse and reveals how he got his overused nickname. He bares all, literally and figuratively, and tells her what really went down during the Sack of King's Landing. It turns out he killed his king in order to save his father and the entire population of the city. Brienne, and I'm sure many viewers, are stunned by his emotionally raw confession. Nikolaj Coster-Waldua delivers an Emmy-worthy performance in this dramatic scene. This is also the first time Brienne really sees Jaime for who he is. Out of all the monologues on the show, this one has been the most profound.
