6. Sex (And Sex Appeal)

Everybody knows that sex sells, and GOT is packed to the rafters with beautiful men and women who happen to consistently be at it, or otherwise holding important conversations, just, you know, in the absence of clothes. Perhaps the greatest thing about sex's treatment in the show is that lovable imp Tyrion gets as much, if not more than everybody else. And we're happy for him. The very first episode and our introduction to Tyrion sees him hiding out in a Stark barn, literally up to his eyes in naked women. Watching GOT, you'll also note very quickly that the term 'whore' is branded around willy-nilly, and that prostitution is a recurring theme. The paid sexual exchanges range massively between exploitative and mutually beneficial, though, and we're not supposed to think about this too deeply, rather just accept that it's a way of life in Westeros. Trivia: Sibel Kekilli, the German actress who plays beautiful prostitute Shae, is also a former porn star. Her stage name was Dilara, just in case you were wondering.
