Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons The Movie Should Be A Prequel

7. Filling In The Gaps

The show writers have done a great job of really fleshing out the world and the history of Westeros, with lots of characters' backstories revealed or at least hinted at. However, such is the amount of depth you could feasibly go into, there's a whole lot of gaps that could be filled in by a prequel movie.

One of the biggest is, of course, Robert's Rebellion, and the events leading up to that. What really happened at the Tower of Joy? Did Rhaegar truly kidnap Lyanna, or were they in love? Even before the Rebellion happened, was that some sort of plot to overthrow King Aerys II (the Southron Ambitions theory)?

Or you could go even further back, and look at the building of the Wall, and how and why the White Walkers came in the first place. Are they truly the evil enemies they're made out to be?
