Game Of Thrones: 5 Major Book Changes From "In The Wars To Come"
3. Sweetrobin Safe
On The Show: First appearing whilst being nursed at the tender age of 8 in Season 1, little Lord Robin Arryn’s world is turned upside down after Littlefinger pushes his mother through the Moon Door of the Eyrie. With his stepfather acting as Lord Protector, Robin exits the Eyrie for the first time. Season 5 sees Littlefinger and Sansa leaving Robin at Runestone to be fostered under the protection of Lord Royce.
In The Books: Robert Arryn is a sickly boy, plagued by fainting spells and severe seizures. Under the direction of Littlefinger, the maester of the Eyrie doses the little lord with dangerous amounts of sweetsleep. Believing that Sweetrobin’s end is nigh, Littlefinger schemes for Sansa – known by her alias Alayne – to reveal her true identity and marry the man next in line for the title of Lord of the Vale. After Sweetrobin barely survives the dangerous trek down from the Eyrie as winter arrives and sweetsleep continues to flood his system, Robert Arryn is far from safe.
What It Could Mean: Robin’s protection at Runestone indicates that perhaps Littlefinger’s plot to wed Sansa to Harry the Heir will be entirely fruitless and the scheme for the Eyrie largely irrelevant to the overall narrative.
