11. Jorah Mormont

You really have to pity Jorah Mormont. A fearsome, highly acclaimed warrior with a heart of gold, he was first employed as a spy to report back to Robert Baratheon on Daenerys' activities, and unfortunately he did what all cool guys in undercover movies do and fell in love with the one person who couldn't afford to.

Not only did she not requite his love, she found out he was a spy and banished him, leading to him getting infected by Greyscale, even as he tried to do right by her and win back her favour. And then when he finally got back into her good graces, she cursed him to spend the rest of his life looking for a cure for his disease, knowing full well she was never going to reward him with her heart.

He has a hell of an interesting arc - though it surely can't end well for him - and there's definitely something to be said of his dogged spirit of endurance. Perhaps he'll have his day once more?
