Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Book Of The Stranger'
1. The Unburnt
It's been a while since we had a spectacular Daenerys set-piece. She's no doubt had her fair share of them on the series, but not since she uttered the word Dracarys has she herself truly proved to be a worthy leader.
As the Dothraki make their threats, she decides to unleash hell on them, and this time she doesn't need Drogon or anyone else to come and save her. It's a great way for her to get out of this predicament and, more predictably, win the remaining Dothraki to her cause.
Although the show, and this episode, excelled in quieter moments, there's still something to be said for the spectacle, and it definitely delivered that here, giving us another reminder of the fact that she is completely fireproof (an idea the show has doubled-down on, while it's a little more ambiguous in the books). She emerges from the flames unscathed, and while she may have lost her clothes, she's clearly empowered and even intimidating.
The show has essentially started over with Dany's storyline, culminating with her emerging from the flames yet again, but hopefully it's the start of a much better storyline, and a Mother of Dragons we can really get behind.
