Game Of Thrones Season 6: 8 Things You Need To Know About Tower Of Joy

1. How This Will Play Out In The TV Series

Game of Thrones Young Ned Lyanna Stark Jon Snow

One of the interesting points to note about how we're going to see the Tower of Joy play out on the screen (and I'd imagine it'll be similar in the books) is that we'll witness it through one of Bran's vision, as evidenced by him and the Three-Eyed Raven standing on the battlefield.

This means that whatever knowledge we do glean from this, it's Bran who'll possess it - a character who, as it stands, would have no way of letting Jon know, and that's without questioning whether the Raven would allow him to interfere in things.

In terms of the actual events themselves, I could see them taking their time with it, or at least I hope they do. This is a momentous occasion, and it'd be a shame to rush through it. The battle isn't something the show should struggle with, and it'll be violent, bloody, and hard-fought, and they could then end things there, or just before Ned's discovery of Lyanna, with the Raven then pulling him out of the vision. Whether that's actually what they'll do obviously remains to be seen, but it'd make sense to spread it over a couple of episodes, unless you're going to have one very flashback heavy instalment (not easy when you've also got to deal with the return of Jon Snow).

Will the show actually reveal the big secret? Well, while it'd be a cool scene, it's hard to imagine them bothering to do it if they aren't going to reveal something. Bran will probably find out the truth about Jon's parents, and it may be through him (if not watching it ourselves) that viewers learn the truth, and Jon too - though that's something they can still save for much later down the line.
