When Was It Said? Episode 6: Beyond the Wall

After witnessing a group of wights turn to dust upon the shattering of a White Walker, Jorah deduced that it was because it was he who rose them from the dead. Later in the episode, Beric theorised that killing the Night King would destroy the whole of his army.

What Does It Mean? This is absolutely vital information and surely foreshadows how The Great War will end. The army of the dead are too great in number for Jon, Daenerys and all of their allies to defeat in battle. The trump card of Dany’s dragons has now been slightly countered by the fact that, unbeknownst to the living, the Night King has one of his own.

What this suggests is that the army of the dead will be winning the battle - taking with them some of our favourite characters - before the Night King is vanquished in individual combat. The rest of his resurrected army die with him, and The Great War is won by the living.

Whoever it is that strikes the fatal blow will fulfil the Azor Ahai prophecy and be revealed as The Prince That Was Promised. The leading contenders have to be Jon and Daenerys.
