Game Of Thrones Season 7: 11 Crucial Things That Must Happen
7. Rhaegar Flashback
Since Maggy the Frog popped up at the start of Season 5, Game of Thrones has gradually started to utilise flashbacks sequences more and more, albeit in a slightly different sense.
Rather than it being a character thinking back, we've been seeing the past as visions through Bran - which brought us the devastating Hodor reveal, and the truth about Jon's parentage.
Although the old Three-Eyed Raven is now dead, those visions should continue in Season 7, fleshing out some more key points to the story. In particular, given we learnt of R+L=J through Bran, it'd make sense to see more of that story.
There's a good chance Robert's Rebellion is one of the stories HBO are thinking about for a spin-off series, but until that happens this is the best chance we have to see that era on-screen. Showing the oft-mentioned but as yet unseen Rhaegar Targaryen, and his secret courtship of Lyanna Stark, would be a fantastic way of visualising the lore, and at last introducing a character who, despite dying before the series takes place, has been hugely influential on it.
