3. Littlefinger - Loser

Once more returning to the idea of "you win or you die", we have Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish. Here was the antithesis of Ned Stark; a man who lived for playing the game, and cared only for the opportunities and power it presented.

And if this season proved Ned a winner, then it showed Littlefinger to be a true loser. His character was largely pushed to the side at Winterfell, and even his attempts at whispering in Sansa's ear backfired. After that he tried Bran, which backfired even worse, and he even provided the Starks with the weapon to murder him with. Eventually he tried to play Arya and Sansa against each other, and he would've gotten away with it if it weren't for that meddling Three-Eyed Raven kid.

Littlefinger played the game of thrones, even as the rest of Westeros was eyeing a different game. He didn't win. And then he died, after desperately begging for his life.
