Game Of Thrones Season 7: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Eastwatch'
3. Blood Of The Dragon
A lot of the time with Game of Thrones, it's the smaller, seemingly throwaway moments that can mean the most, and that's certainly the case with Eastwatch.
Picking things up with Sam and Gilly at the Citadel, she's asking him questions based on the book she's reading, while he gets annoyed at the distraction. It's a nice little moment for Gilly at least, showing how far she's come, and then she just so happens to mention a Prince 'Raggar' having an annulment and marrying someone else.
Sam ignores it and the show moves on, but it's one of the biggest moments of the season. It means that Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark were married, which in turn means Jon Snow is not a bastard, but the trueborn son of Rhaegar and rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Bloody hell man, Sam, listen!
There was a more obvious call to Jon's parentage in this episode too, but a nonetheless great one. Drogon lands and starts to sniff him out, eventually deciding he's ok enough to not burn to a crisp, and Jon lays a trembling hand on him. It's rather awesome to see Jon pet a dragon, even more-so in light of who he really is, and Kit Harington does an excellent job of being awed and scared by the "beast".
