Game Of Thrones Season 7 Spoiler: Jon Snow's Real Name Revealed?

Game of Thrones Season 6 finale contained a reveal fans of A Song of Ice and Fire had been waiting two decades for: Jon Snow is not the bastard son of Ned Stark, but the child of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.

While it was finally confirmed that R+L really did equal J, there was another layer of mystery that went unresolved. When a dying Lyanna hands the baby to Ned, she whispers "his name is..." and then it became harder to make it out.

Various guesses were made, including the likes of Aemon and Aegon, but now thanks to Empire it may have inadvertently been revealed. The magazine have a big Game of Thrones feature in their latest issue, in which they uncover 15 secrets from the cast and crew.

It's here that the reveal comes, as it details Bran being the keeper of the secret regarding Jon Snow's parentage. You can see it below, via Redditor theshivsharma:

So, not Jon Snow, but Jaehaerys Targaryen. That was one of the common guesses after The Winds of Winter, and it makes a lot of sense. It sounds much more Targaryen than Jon, for starters, and it's the name of a number of other notable characters in the family.

These include King Jaehaerys I, the longest-reigning Targ monarch, and Jaehaerys II, father of the Mad King Aerys II. There have also been two princes by that name, including one of Jon's uncles.

Assuming that it's true and HBO have let it slip, rather than Empire just seeing it on forums and believing it to be correct, the big question now, then, is just whether Jon will find out during Season 7, and what it'll mean when he does. You know nothing, Jaehaerys Targaryen.
