Game Of Thrones Theories: 13 Epic Season 6 Moments Still To Come

10. Ser Davos' Inevitable Heroic Death

The three MVPs of season 6 so far have been Tormund, Davos and The Hound: they're all men cut from similar cloth (military men who are singular in their intentions and who are wildcards in the purest sense). To think that two of them could be slain in the same battle is almost unthinkable.

The most likely, given the way his narrative arc has unfolded, is probably Ser Davos Seaworth. He has grown this season as an advisor of Jon Snow, and unfortunately his knowledge of the impending White Walker attack probably means he's going to die. Expect it to be heroic though: he's not the kind of man to die without a meaty cause (perhaps saving Snow?)

Likelihood: 6/10

Let's be honest here, the likelihood is higher than that, but I couldn't bring myself to put it.

Davos' arc this season has seen him reclaim his heroic status after years of being downtrodden by Stannis and overlooked for Melisandre. He's a voice of reason, a legitimately good man and a man of honour, and unfortunately that makes him utterly expendable.

And the fact that his death makes it less likely people will believe Jon Snow's warnings about the approach of the White Walkers also dooms him. No narrative device goes unused in Westeros, after all.
