4. Bran And The Night King's Connection

The Night King actor Vladimir Furdik, has said that the Night King has "a target" in Game of Thrones Season 8. While that could just as easily be Jon or Daenerys, there's a good reason to believe the person he's referring to is actually Bran Stark, because the pair do already have an established connection.

When Bran was learning under the Three-Eyed Raven in Season 6, he had a vision of the army of the dead. This wasn't just a regular vision though, since the Night King was able to see him and touch him. Bran bore the Night King's mark, leading him to the Raven's weirwood tree. In the short-term, this led to the destruction of the tree, the death of the Three-Eyed Raven, and then that devastating Hodor reveal, but it was also expected to have even bigger implications too.

One theory was that Bran possessing the Night King's mark, and then passing through the Wall, would break the magic on the Wall and allow the White Walkers to pass through it too. Instead, the Night King simply had Viserion burn it down, and so Bran's connection to the Night King remains something that could be explored in Season 8. This could almost be like a tracking device, since Bran would be able to see where the Night King is headed - a loose comparison here is the connection between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.

It's quite likely that the Night King is a greenseer too, since he comes from the Age of Heroes, was connected in some way to the Children of the Forest (and possibly the Starks too), and from what we've seen in the show: the fact he was prepared for Dany's arrival in Beyond The Wall, but more importantly that he was able to see and touch Bran during his own vision.

This connection has even led to wild theories such as Bran being the Night King, which, well, almost certainly isn't gonna happen. But it does mean there's something between them, and that could tip the scales one way or another. It means there should be a big showdown between the pair, or a big plot point between them in some form, and the duo fighting for control over the Night King's dragon would fit with that.
