4. Littlefinger€™s Moustache Twirling

HBOOkay, so Littlefinger doesn't literally twirl his moustache. At the rate he's going though, he'll be waxing his facial hair and donning a black cape before season five is through. Possibly the least surprising 'surprise villain' of all time, nobody was shocked when he betrayed Ned Stark, or when it was revealed that he had orchestrated the killing of King Joffrey. He's also hasn't been particularly clever about his nefarious deeds at several stages in the series. For example, his killing of Lysa Arryn is poorly thought out, and it's only through Sansa bailing him out that he ever got away with it. Some might argue that that's exactly what he planned, but there's just too many variables that could have gone a different way. In the books, it's a big surprise that the meek, diminutive Littlefinger is behind many of the huge events that kicked off A Game of Thrones. However, in the case of the show, Littlefinger's involvement was the least unexpected revelation of season four.
