3. Stoneheart Removal

It won't ruin anything from the show, but if you've been meaning to read the books in anticipation of season five, then this will ruin a big surprise. At the end of A Storm of Swords it's revealed that Catelyn Stark is still roaming Westeros, under the name of Lady Stoneheart. After being resurrected by Beric Dondarrion, Catelyn assumes command of the Brotherhood Without Banners, executing everyone she believes to be a traitor. As you can imagine, it's a pretty huge twist in the books, and important to the arcs of several other major characters. However, actress Michelle Fairley has confirmed that her character is done with, and that there are too many narrative points to include everything. You'd think one of the biggest female characters in the series returning from the dead would be a high priority for inclusion, but there you go.
