Game Of Thrones: 15 Biggest ‘Holy Sh*t!’ Moments So Far

9. King's Landing Riots

After seeing off the ship that is sending Princess Myrcella to Dorne, the royal party--including Joffrey, Cersei, Tommen, Tyrion, Sansa, and the High Septon--head back toward the castle on foot. The starving townsfolk heckle Joffrey, and one finally heaves a "cow pie" at the king's face. Joffrey--once again displaying his clear understanding of the concept of proportional response--tells his guards to kill the man who'd done the throwing, then quickly amends the order to just go ahead and"kill them all." This provokes a riot among the common folk. The Lannisters make it back to the keep intact, although the High Septon is quite literally torn apart. And possibly eaten. It's very violent and very frantic, but it's really not all that upsetting. It's only Joffrey. What is upsetting is what befalls Sansa Stark. Almost immediately separated from the rest of the royal party, Sansa is set upon by a group of grown men, who proceed to knock her down and rip at her clothing. Poor Sophie Turner looks terrified, and no matter what your opinion of Sansa, it's an utter relief when the Hound shows up to rip out the innards of her attackers. With his hands.

8. Bronn Ignites The Blackwater

As Stannis Baratheon sails toward King's Landing to claim his place on the throne, Tyrion Lannister is forced to come up with an unconventional way to counter the superior forces. Arriving at night, Stannis' fleet commander Ser Davos finds that what few ships the city has are motionless and moored. Unfortunately for him, however, it is not until his fleet is well within the bay that he sees that the ships are in fact empty, their sides leaking a thick green liquid. "Wildfire!" he shouts. Up on the city walls, Tyrion gives Bronn a signal. Bronn ignites an arrow, draws, and fires onto one of the leaking ships. Instantly, giant plumes of green flame shoot out across the water, destroying dozens of ships and burning thousands of men alive. Shrieks of agony fill the air. The Hound is shaken. Joffrey and the pyromancer are gleeful. Tyrion and Bronn are aghast at what they have done. It's pretty much the coolest moment of the entire show.
