Game Of Thrones: 15 Upcoming Problems That Could Potentially Derail It

12. Daenerys Just Sits In Mereen Forever!

While the events at the end of A Dance With Dragons looks to finally shake up Dany's story line, there is a great swath of chapters where she sits around, learning how to be a queen, dealing with the politics and rival armies of Slaver's Bay and entering into dangerous, political romantic liaisons. Ultimately it will serve to demonstrate that she has the experience as well as the blood line to rule Westeros, but it won't necessarily make for an exciting season or two of television. Her story line dragged somewhat in book two and it showed in season two; with the exception of the finale in the House Of Undying (an equally a riveting moment in the book), viewers wondered if she was going to do more than wander the desert and smile sweetly at Xaro Xhoan Daxos. Imagine how they'll react to her week by week sat on the same throne, not going anywhere or showing any inclination of taking a step closer to Westeros. Like Arya, there's plenty of great drama to be had from the last two books, but after the big events of A Storm Of Swords/season three and four, audiences are sure to find themselves a little disappointed when that progression comes to a grinding halt.
