Games Of Thrones Season 4: 20 Most Hotly Anticipated Moments
9. The Banishment Of Jorah
Before becoming Daeneryss right hand man, Jorah Mormont actually infiltrated her inner circle as a means of reporting on her activities to King Robert, in an effort to eventually be pardoned and allowed back to Westeros. However, as we know, Jorah came to love and respect her, and ultimately decided to stand by her side and serve her loyally. Seeing a woman survive being burned alive and give birth to dragons has that effect. In season four, Dany is finally going to discover this truth, and her relationship with Jorah is going to change dramatically. She feels betrayed; her trust in the man whom she trusts most completely shaken. Despite the decision not being an easy one for her emotionally, she banishes Jorah from her service for good, kicking him out of Meereen and threatening to execute him if he ever returns. This is a humongous gut punch to Jorah, who loves her unconditionally, which is why this is such a significant moment to look forward too. It has the potential to be one of the most dramatic scenes of the series, especially given how good Emilia Clarke and Ian Glenn are together. It is another event that takes the series into a darker place, which seems impossible. Sadly, this is just the beginning of the suffering Jorah will be put through.
