Gotham didn't directly address Joker in its first season, but it made plenty of hints that Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) a troubled soul with a potentially scabrous past, might represent the character's origin. Over the summer we've seen this notion perpetuated through a variety of images. Monaghan shared a photo of himself wearing the character's infamous grin and other on-set snaps have seen him in action, doing largely Joker-y things. That was confirmed by the show's creators at the start of 2015, which leaves us to ask, is Jerome Gotham's Clown Prince? The year ahead will reveal all.
