Hannibal: 10 Things We Won't Get To See

3. Three’s A Crowd

… we had finally, for the first time ever, seen Will Graham and Clarice Starling meet and interact.

For many, this is the lost storyline that rankles the most. Clarice may be the most iconic protagonist to face off against Lecter, but Will is the man who caught him – and with Hannibal, audiences have been privy to an expansion of that fairly binary ‘cops n’ robbers’ relationship. Lecter may have gotten into Will’s head and had a good rummage around, but judging by the events of season three so far, Will’s left his mark on Hannibal’s psyche too.

How would Will react upon seeing Starling interacting with Lecter? Would there be a professional rivalry? A personal one? Graham isn’t a social animal, and doesn’t suffer fools gladly… and Clarice would, by necessity, be stepping onto his turf with Lecter. Meanwhile, the entirely new dynamic that Clarice would have with Lecter might well be threatened by the lurking presence of Will Graham in the background.

It’s a little like just beginning a new romantic entanglement, only to have the ex hovering around in the periphery. Will and Hannibal are complicated enough. What happens when you throw Clarice into the mix?
