Hannibal Season 4: Everything We Know So Far
7. A Cast Keen To Return
The cast of Hannibal have expressed their desire to return for a fourth season - "If Bryan is up for it, we will all go for it," said Mads Mikkelsen recently in a 2020 interview with the Express. Hugh Dancy, who played Will Graham in the show, also told Digital Spy his thoughts on a season renewal - "I've said many times, and it's completely true, that I would love that. If we were able to come back, maybe taking a few years away for it to reform itself might be the best thing that could happen for it."
That's the two leads in, what about the rest of the cast? Gillian Anderson also weighed in to Digital Spy on the cliffhanger ending and Bedelia's post-credit scene, minus a leg, "Obviously, it's a great place to lead forth from, if there were another incarnation [of the show]."
In July 2015, the cast were released from their contracts on Hannibal and were free to work elsewhere, yet this didn't stop them from being vocal in their desire to return.
The enthusiasm is certainly there and if the project is greenlit, expect many others to return. Dr. Chilton (Raul Esparza) is amazingly still alive, if a little crispy, as is Jack Crawford, Alana Bloom, Freddie Lounds and many others who are an integral part of the show's story and would continue to play a part in the fourth season, if Fuller can find a distributor now that NBC have decided to pass on that opportunity.
