House Of Cards: Ranking All The Main Characters From Worst To Best
6. Rachel Posner
How a prostitute sitting beside a Congressman during a traffic stop became a 3 season-long storyline is testament to how good House Of Cards was at fleshing out its characters and creating political layers at the top and bottom of Washington.
Rachel Brosnahan's Rachel Posner was unassuming and naïve throughout her time in House Of Cards, however, her actions and the situations she found herself in had the power to bring down the Underwood's master scheme. Which is why Frank had Doug Stamper handle her, though that went all kinds of wrong when they began a sexual relationship together.
As a character, the audience were always aware of what power she really held without knowing it, which is what made her so good to watch and so interesting to follow. Her story with Doug and the fallout of the situation they found themselves in was one of the best in the show, so when the moment arrived and she hit him over the head with a branch, nearly killing him in the process, it was both nail-biting and absorbing to witness.
Brosnahan went on to star in the brilliant Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, so going back to see her as Posner you realise just how good her performance was.
