4. Neil Patrick Harris - Barney Stinson
Arguably the most recognisable name when you say the words How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris' run as Barney Stinson was of legend-(wait for it)-dary status.
Real-name Barnabus, Stinson was most known on the show for being a womanizer, having a total of four serious relationships (with Shannon, Robin, Nora, and Quinn), amongst a number of other noteworthy sexual encounters. The birth of his daughter, Ellie, changed things for Barney, however.
Harris has remained relatively busy since, appearing on two episodes of American Horror Story, the television series version of The Penguins of Madagascar, and an impressive 25 episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Movie-wise, the former Stinson brother has acted as Foy in 2014's A Million Ways To Die In The West, Desi Collings in the same year's Gone Girl, and Jeff Lonowski in 2017's Downsizing.
Behind-the-scenes, Neil has been equally as busy. He was an executive producer for Genius Junior, the 25 episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events he appeared on, Wig, It's Alive Created By Neil Patrick Harris, and Revolution Rent
