How I Met Your Mother Cast: Where Are They Now?

Bill Fagerbakke is to thank for the excellent role he provided as Marvin Eriksen Sr., the father to Marshall and his brothers, Marcus and Marvin. Up to his passing, Marvin Sr. gave off vibes of a fun grandfather who'd always try to reason with the more stubborn parents.

After he was written out of How I Met Your Mother, Fagerbakke continued providing his voice to 'play' Patrick Star in SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as a handful of other voices he's provided to the show since 1999. Bill's role as Patrick has meant that he's also provided the voice of the beloved starfish for other SpongeBob-related projects, including the two movies - Sponge Out Of Water and Sponge On The Run - and video games.

It's not just Bikini Bottom where Fagerbakke's voice acting studio is set up, though, as he's also provided voices for Young Justice, American Dad, and Dorothy And The Wizard Of Oz, the latter of which saw him take on the role of the Scarecrow persona.

Going back to the land of SpongeBob, however, Fagerbakke also sang Aka Waka Maka Mia for the second movie, as well as singing The Twelve Days of Christmas in a 2018 episode of DuckTales, although he goes uncredited for this role.
