It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia: 10 Most Controversial Moments

6. The Implication

Its Always Sunny Season 13
FX

In a post-#metoo world, many of the activities that Dennis partakes in, especially in the earlier seasons of the show, would almost certainly have proved much more controversial at the time, such as filming women without their consent. However, by far the best example of this is his belief in the ‘implication’.

The ‘implication’ is Dennis’ idea that when he takes women out to sea on his boat they’ll be unable to say no to sleeping with him due to the risk of them being murdered and having their bodies dumped at sea. The reality of course being that he is coercing these women to sleep with him.

Despite only playing a minor role in the episode, this moment is often considered to be one of the most shocking and got the audience to begin questioning just how evil Dennis really is.
