JJ Abrams and Jonah Nolan pitching new crime t.v. series

Only a handful of directors and writers in today's film industry can say they've produced or worked on critical AND commercial successes. For the rest, it's either commercial OR critical acclaim. Thankfully, a new TV series is being shopped around Hollywood and the guys who are behind it belong to the first category. Yes, as the title reads, J.J. Abrams (Lost, Star Trek, Alias) and Jonah Nolan (co screenwriter on The Dark Knight, The Prestige and wrote the short story Memento) are working together on a crime thriller TV series that is searching for a studio deal right now. I doubt we'll have to worry about them finding one given their respective CV's. Details are still scarce at the moment, but from what EW report - the show is Nolan's idea which he pitched to Abrams who loved it, and is now using all his clout to get it made. Presently, both men are equally busy with other projects as Jonah is putting the finishing touches on his script for the third Batman installment in Chris Nolan's groundbreaking trilogy, while also scribing the Superman reboot, that rumour has it - he might be up to direct as his filmmaking debut. On the other hand, JJ Abrams has his hands full with Super 8, the rumored Alcatraz-themed TV series, and also the Undercovers TV series. Not to mention producing Mission Impossible 4 this fall, and directing a Star Trek sequel next year.
