Lost: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
3. Season 2 - "The One With The Hatch"
Best Episode Of The Season: Episode 07 - The Other 48 Days
As bizarre as the first season was, the weirdness of the second hit new heights when the premise involved the characters keying in a series of numbers into a computer every one hundred and eight minutes - failing to do so could/would cause the world to end.
While that might sound strange, it's not half as weird as where the second season did go, whilst still keeping the train firmly on the rails. The second season got a chance to flesh out its diverse characters a little more - with the flashbacks not only giving us even more insight into the heroes, but also branching out with new characters.
The introduction of the "Tail Section" characters was a neat idea, albeit pointless since audiences were still trying to get to grips with the main crew. And while half of the new characters ended up either dead or ensnared by The Others, it was the introduction of characters like Desmond Hume and Henry Gale (sorry, Ben Linus!) and also paved the way for the infamous Dharma Initiative - the elusive plot narrative that consumed later seasons.
Overall, the second season might be the last time the show had sanity. After its cataclysmic season finale, the show lost its mind from then on.
