Making A Murderer: 6 Developments In The Avery Case Since It Debuted

4. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Casts Doubt On An Avery Pardon

Obama€™s camp says he is unable to exonerate Avery and, to rub salt into this particular wound, the one man who does have the power has cast doubt on a pardon. In response to the buzz surrounding Making A Murderer, Wisconsin governor Scott Walker has taken to social media to offer his ten cents on the matter. He issued a statement saying that "viewers of the Netflix series on Steven Avery should read the unanimous opinion of the Court of Appeals before jumping to conclusions." He also shared a link to the court€™s 2011 ruling, in which three judges upheld Avery€™s conviction for the murder of Halbach. Needless to say, the governor€™s Facebook post caused a stir, with many, but not all of the respondents springing to Avery€™s defence.
