Making A Murderer: 6 Developments In The Avery Case Since It Debuted
4. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Casts Doubt On An Avery Pardon
Obamas camp says he is unable to exonerate Avery and, to rub salt into this particular wound, the one man who does have the power has cast doubt on a pardon. In response to the buzz surrounding Making A Murderer, Wisconsin governor Scott Walker has taken to social media to offer his ten cents on the matter. He issued a statement saying that "viewers of the Netflix series on Steven Avery should read the unanimous opinion of the Court of Appeals before jumping to conclusions." He also shared a link to the courts 2011 ruling, in which three judges upheld Averys conviction for the murder of Halbach. Needless to say, the governors Facebook post caused a stir, with many, but not all of the respondents springing to Averys defence.
