Making A Murderer: 6 Developments In The Avery Case Since It Debuted
3. Prosecutor Ken Kratz Hits Out At The Show For Omitting Key Evidence
Making a Murderer paints an ugly picture of former Wisconsin state prosecutor Ken Kratz, although he certainly didnt do himself any favours when he sent those racy text messages to a domestic abuse victim. Nevertheless, Kratz had the chance to refute some of the documentarys claims when People approached him for comment. He dismissed the serial as a conspiracy movie and criticised filmmakers Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi for allegedly omitting evidence against Avery. Demos and Ricciardi responded to Kratzs claims in an interview with The Wrap, insisting that their aim was to include what they felt were the prosecutors strongest pieces of evidence in the Halbach murder case. "The things I've heard listed as things we've left out seem much less convincing of guilt than Teresa's DNA on a bullet or her remains in his backyard," said Demos. The filmmakers also claim that Kratz had the opportunity of a bigger role in the documentary and give some first-hand testimony, but he declined the offer.
