Marvel's Iron Fist: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
7. Another Rising Star In The Lead
So far, Marvel's Netflix shows have done an incredible job of nabbing rising stars to play their central superheroes. While Charlie Cox and, in particular, Krysten Ritter were known names, they hadn't yet had found their definitive role. With the possible exception of Mike Colter, none of them were the kind of actors you would think of to play superheroes but all of them pulled it out of the hat and gave terrific performances.
Given that, we have total faith that Marvel have pulled it off again with casting Finn Jones as Danny Rand. Previously most known for playing Loras Tyrell in Games of Thrones, the 28-year-old British actor was the cause of some controversy when he was cast - due to some thinking the character should be reimagined as an Asian individual - but he's bound to be the right choice.
For British fans and anglophiles, it's also fun that Jones is the second Brit to play a Defender, after Cox. Along with Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) and Tom Holland (Spider-Man) joining the Avengers, it seems that Brits are invading the Marvel universe.
