Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

2. Jeri Strikes Out On Her Own (And Shows Her Dark Side)

It might have looked like season 2 might be the end of Jeri Hogarth - whether through professional disgrace, personal ruination or in terms of her health - but she actually ends the run on something of a high.

She might have ALS and very little hope of anything but a quick decline in health, but she manages to get a healthy severance package from her former partners when Malcolm digs up dirt on them and then takes all of her clients with her, including the golden goose of Rand. She's setting out on her own and she'll profit well from those established relationships.

But Jeri also shows in the penultimate episode that she can be a dark figure when the need arises. When Inez and Shane scam her, she manipulates the former into murdering the latter - ruining both lives at once and her employment of Cheng confirms she's willing to break the law to get what she wants. Could this be a road towards her going full-blown villain? It's definitely possible.
