So the supporting cast is great, and Ali is incredible in the role of the series' main villain. That's all well and good, but for Luke Cage to really succeed, it needs its leading man to deliver. Mike Colter already gave us a taste of what to expect in Jessica Jones, but it seems that was nothing compared to what he brings here.

"If you had already fallen in love with Colter’s portrayal of Luke on Jessica Jones, then your love for this character is only going to grow when you see what he delivers in his own show." - Heroic Hollywood
"Colter plays Luke Cage with the exact relaxed confidence you’d expect from a man with unbreakable skin, and his easy charisma plays well with the rest of the cast. When the show stumbles, Colter doesn’t." - Den of Geek
"None [of the cast] shine as brightly as Colter. Like we saw glimpses of in Jessica Jones, he gives Cage a sense of reticence mixed with righteous defiance that hits all the right notes for a hero who uses his strength only as a last resort, and he does so in low tones and with a casual confidence. Though Cage isn’t always confident, he’s extremely principled with a magnetic charisma, making him a kind of Captain America to this ragtag group of vigilantes. Though he may struggle to define his heroism and what it means for himself and Harlem, there are no complications for viewers. He is the hero we’ve been waiting for." - Collider
